Hello, my name is Analisse Taft-Gersten. I am the owner and founder of ALT for Living showrooms and co-founder of the 1818 Collective.

If you had to choose 3 words to describe yourself, what would they be?

Inspired, grateful and busy.

What is your first textile memory?

I've been in the design industry for over 25 years and in my career I've worked with many different textiles. In the late 90's I was working as a manager in a furniture shop in New York. Next door to the shop was an interior design business with a library full of beautiful and unusual materials handwoven by a Brooklyn weaver, and it was then that I understood the beauty of handmade products. I was completely in love. The next day I quit my job and started working for a textile company!
Which material inspires you the most? And what is your favourite combination?

Tassar silk. This hand-spun fibre is very difficult to obtain. As for my favourite combination, I like to combine Vicuna leather with linen, adding a touch of gold.

What is your favourite PERRINE product?

I am constantly inspired by Perrine's textile design work, but if I had to choose one product, it would be the Aussane rug.
